Academic Vocabulary Practice

Due: Mon, 10/2

To help you continue learning new vocabulary, please complete the following, and bring it typed/printed or handwritten to class.

  1. Review Academic Word List 3A. If you already know all of the words on this list, choose another list (the higher the number, the more advanced the vocabulary).
  2. Select 6 words from the list that you do not know, or that you are not sure of the exact meaning. If there are fewer than 6 that you do not know, look at another list.
  3. Look up these words in merriam-webster.com or ludwig.guru, and find several examples of each word in context.
  4. Create your own sentences using these words in context (this time, please do not use the examples from the sites–write your own!). Try to be sure to keep the meaning of the word accurate.
