TED Talk Planning

Due: Wed, 11/29

To help you begin practicing and preparing for your TED talk, first read these short tips for TED talks. You may also want to review Chris Anderson’s Tips for Public Speaking.

Then, please bring the following (handwritten or typed/printed) to class. We will spend time work-shopping and practicing your talks:

1. A written script for about the first two minutes of your talk (approximately one page of typed, double spaced text). After this script, provide a detailed outline for the rest of the presentation. Include the main points, transition words/ phrases and examples/ evidence/ sources you will provide, and the conclusion.

2. A brief explanation of what you want to work on, based on recordings and feedback from Presentations 1-3: a) What are a few skills you feel you have improved this semester? Give 3-4 specific details from Presentation 3 that you feel are improved. b) What are a few things you plan to focus on specifically for this final talk? Give 3-4 specific details based on feedback and the recording from Presentation 3.
